We have no idea what’s next for the Guardians of the Galaxy following the events of Avengers: Infinity War. What we do know is that there will be a third film, which James Gunn is currently writing. Gunn recently responded to fans on social media and revealed that the soundtrack of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has changed a lot.
When asked whether or not the soundtrack was decided, Gunn gave a simple answer. He said the soundtrack is almost narrowed down, though he admitted a lot can change between now and the beginning of production.
Mostly. But I’ve also changed it a lot, so who knows!
In July last year, Gunn claimed that he had narrowed the soundtrack selection for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 down to 181 songs. Then in October, Gunn said that most of the songs for the soundtrack had already been selected and that the list had been narrowed down to at least ten songs. It looks like Gunn has finally decided on his selection, though there could be some changes along the way.
Gunn recently admitted that he’s been working on the third and final film for about a year, noting that he has most of the script complete at this point in time. He also said that the new Guardians movie will be very different from its predecessors.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2020.
