Before the Oscar nominations roll out, we’re going to get a taste of what to expect from various awards ceremonies before the big night. Today’s big awards show is the 24th Critics’ Choice Awards which can be argued to be among the more respectable awards shows in the industry. Whether or not you agree with these picks, you gotta admit, they’re giving us some interesting films to enjoy. The Favourite led the pack in the ceremony with 14 nominations including Best Picture which was followed by Black Panther with 12 nominations and First Man with 10 nominations.
The ceremony hit some of the same beats but with some interesting surprises along with some “They can do that?” moments. Alfonso Cuaron’s ROMA was the big winner that night bagging the award for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Foreign Language Film (duh.). The ceremony also saw two ties (They can do that?) with Glenn Close and Lady Gaga winning the award for Best Actress for The Wife and A Star is Born respectively. That’s only the film category though as we have another tie in television category with Amy Adams and Patricia Arquette winning the award for Best Actress in a Movie Made for TV or Limited Series for Sharp Objects and Escape at Dannemora respectively.
Yep, it was a pretty interesting night that saw a ton of worthy winners. Check out the full list of winners below per E! online :

There’s going to be a few more award shows rolling out and with Oscar nominations soon to be dropped, we’ve got a lot to catch up on.
