Henry Cavill Cast Doubts On The Significance Of A “Snyder Cut”

It looks like he’s over it too.

Justice League didn’t really offer the DCEU the film fans have wanted from something titled… well, Justice League. When Joss Whedon took over directorial responsibilities from Zack Snyder, it’s been surmised that the original vision for the film or “Snyder cut” as many would call it was altered which in turn gave us the disappointing end product. However, fans have still been clamoring for one with some theorizing that Snyder is working on his own cut of the film of which people who’ve actually worked on the film have denied or they’ve at least not supported such claims. It seems that Superman himself Henry Cavill, has a thing or two to say about this matter.

Speaking to Yahoo Movies UK during the Mission: Impossible-Fallout press tour, Henry Cavill provided his take on the elusive “Snyder cut” of Justice League . He said:

“I don’t know if [a Snyder cut] actually exists so the only way I can look at it is as a business model, and I don’t know what difference it’s going to make… “There are stories to be told, which need to be told and adjustments that can be made, but that’s not going to make any difference.”

Well, Cavill seems pretty clueless on this matter too but it seems like he mostly wants this whole Justice League situation behind him. He further explains:

“They’re not going to release it into cinemas and so they’re not going to suddenly make an extra few hundred million… so it would be interesting to see what the difference is, but I’d rather focus on the future rather than what’s been.”

It looks like Cavill may be tired of this whole “Snyder cut” situation himself and it’s best we all do the same. It’s unsure if the Snyder cut will be successful but fans are clamoring for it and there’s a huge chance it could garner some traction but chances are, it’ll confuse audiences especially general film-goers.

With a slew of other DC films on the horizon including this year’s Aquaman, all we can do is hope for them to bring the DCEU back on track. If all goes well, fans may not even care about a “Snyder cut” anymore.
