Possible Spoilers ahead for Avengers 4
Following the events of Avengers: Infinity War, there have been plenty of speculation in regards to what we can expect in Avengers 4. Information has been scarce on the film to say the least as Marvel Studios has kept their lips sealed on the matter. There have been theories surrounding the inclusion of the Quantum Realm in the film which was explored in the recent Ant-Man & The Wasp and it seems like Captain Marvel may also explore it. However, Marvel’s biggest blabber mouth, Tom Holland who plays Spider-Man may have revealed some spoilers surrounding Avengers 4 while promoting Infinity War and it may be confirming the theories surrounding it.
In an interview posted by Emergency Awesome, Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch who plays Doctor Strange were discussing difficulty in delivering lines for the film to which Holland (probably accidentally) reveals some of Strange’s lines. He said:
“He has the most difficult lines though. He has to talk about so much Quantum Realm stuff.I just have to talk about, ‘Yeah, man, that’s awesome!’ So mine is easy but his is so difficult!”
The Quantum Realm was barely discussed in Infinity War and we know that both Infinity War and Avengers 4 were shot back-to-back aside from re-shoots that would commence soon. It’s safe to say that Holland slipped up and revealed more than he should have. What’s interesting is that these lines come from Strange so that does reveal something about his character in the upcoming film.
The Quantum Realm is pretty cool as it is described as a place beyond time and space so it would revolve around time travel, alternate dimensions, all that jazz. We’ve seen those sci-fi concepts tackled before but Marvel hasn’t really fully utilized it even in Ant-Man & The Wasp (Granted, it was used nicely in Doctor Strange). Maybe Holland’s words were just….. honestly, it really does seem like he probably gave it away but even if he did, fans saw this coming so it’s not that big of a deal.
