It goes without saying that Avengers: Infinity War is one of the most visually stunning films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The visual effects in the film were great and it looks like there’s a huge chance it’s looking at an Oscar nomination for their effort. There’s a ton of CGI and motion capture involved in the film we’re gonna get a chance to see how some scenes came to be in four new VFX breakdown videos.
Youtube Channel It’s Amazing has released four videos providing a glimpse to the magic behind the VFX of Avengers: Infinity War including Josh Brolin’s motion capture. The videos showcase a VFX breakdown of some key scenes in the film including Hulk’s battle with Thanos, Iron-Man and Doctor Strange taking on the Mad Titan, Gamora’s conversation with, you guessed it… Thanos and last but not least, the Battle of Wakanda. The videos may not be as extensive as an entire making-of documentary but it does provide a little insight to what went on behind the scenes. This is definitely a testament to how far CGI has come over the years. Several VFX companies worked to bring this film to light including the popular Industrial, Light and Magic, Weta Studios (Lord of the Rings series) and DNEG (Inception), just to name a few. With all this in mind, good job VFX guys!
