Marvel Has Already Had Meetings About Films Up To 2025

Long term storytelling, it’s a hell of a drug.

Fans of Marvel are still reeling from the latest installment of the Avengers and many are looking forward to the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp. However, Kevin Feige and Marvel studios are already looking a few years ahead. According to Feige, Marvel Studios just had meetings about their 2024-2025 slate of films. Avengers 4 might have been marketed as the “end,” but the MCU will seek to continue past Phase 3 with a slew of new stories to tell.

Feige is known to have a preference towards focussing on the now, rather than looking too far down the road. He’s often reiterated that they opt to focus on the task at hand rather than constantly looking at what’s to come. But that doesn’t mean that they don’t have internal discussions about what’s to come in their film series, after all, there’s no other film franchise that can hold a candle to MCU’s foresight. So while everyone is caught up in the buzz surrounding Infinity War and its highly anticipated sequel coming next year, as well as Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel, the company president revealed that he and his team have just had conversations about movies set to be released in seven years.

Speaking with the Associated Press, the MCU mastermind had plenty to say, with regards to the process of building a sustainable franchise.

We’re always thinking ahead. Just when people think they can pin us down, we go somewhere else and that’s going to happen again after ‘Infinity War’ in the build-up to the next Avengers film. And we had meetings earlier today about 2024 and 2025.

Of course, any plans formed in these meetings at Marvel Studios are more than likely far from anything concrete, especially as the list of officially announced release dates for new Marvel films only goes up to the year 2022. So, ideas about the films to come after that point is probably still in flux.
