Earlier today, Keke Palmer, whom you may recognise from Hustlers, 90210 and Masters of Sex, was out protesting the killing of George Floyd, when she came across some members of the United States National Guard. Keke approached them and asked them to march with her.
She actress said, “You have to understand what’s going on. We have a president who’s trying to incite a race war. We need you. So march with us. March beside us. You get your people. March beside us. March beside us. Let the revolution be televised.”
One of the Guardsmen extended his hand, but Palmer wouldn’t give in. “No, no, no — let’s just do it. We start marching, and you march with us. Please.” The Guardsman told Palmer that he, unfortunately, cannot leave his post or go beyond the area that he’s assigned to patrol.
Palmer continued to insist, but seeing as how the Guardsmen was never going to actually do it (can’t blame them either, they’re just following orders), a woman next to Palmer asked the Guardsmen, “Can you do me a favor? Can you take the knee?” The Guardsmen said yes. He took a knee and so did the members of his unit.
