Star Wars is going through a pretty weird time right now. The Force Awakens received a lot of flak from fans for being a remix of A New Hope (a sentiment we don’t necessarily agree with). But things really went off the rails in the community with the release of The Last Jedi, which arguably is the most polarizing Star Wars film to date. While critics and some fans seem to love the Rian Johnson film to pieces, there’s a portion of very vocal fans who outright hate the film, calling it an absolute disgrace to the lore. It’s one thing to dislike/hate a movie, it’s a completely different thing to constantly bash the cast and crew on social media. Not only that, but some fans also seem to throw shade at the creative executives as well.
Could that have been the catalyst for Pablo Hidalgo’s cryptic tweet? Hidalgo, by the way is the creative executive currently working for Lucasfilm on the Star Wars franchise and he is also a member of the Lucasfilm Story Group. Check out his tweet below:

To start, we’re not sure if Pablo Hidalgo is trolling or he’s being serious — most likely the latter; maybe a mixture of both. Either way, maybe he does have a point. During the pre-social media age, folks like Pablo Hidalgo would pretty much be operating in stealth. Sure, the masses would know who a film’s director is, but a company’s “creative executive”? Not so much. We wouldn’t know if they’re doing a great job or not.
But we live in a social media age, where everything is put under a microscope. It’s widely known among hardcore fans that Pablo Hidalgo is a highly knowledgable Star Wars fan himself. Did a bunch of fans yell at him on Twitter regarding the direction Star Wars is heading in right now? Did people question him concerning the Star Wars: Episode IX trailer… or lack thereof. Or is Pablo Hidalgo merely thinking out loud? It’s anybody’s guess. We’re just speculating here.
Pablo’s following tweet is even funnier than the previous one, and it does add some context.

He could just be telling fans to ‘get a life’. His final tweet does seem to indicate that he’s frustrated, probably because of some of the hate he’s been getting from unruly fans who simply cannot get over the supposed “butchery” of their beloved product. It’s important to note that not all Star Wars fans hate the Disney era of Star Wars.
Our editor and hardcore Star Wars fan actually wrote a piece on why The Last Jedi is a misunderstood masterpiece. Also, not all fans who dislike the Disney era of Star Wars are assholes. But there are some fans who simply cannot stop yelling in people’s ears about how much they hate the product right now. This vocal minority feels like a disease that is slowly spreading and making the Star Wars fandom toxic.

That said, it’s good to see some positive replies from fans.
In each person's lives there comes a moment where they find out about Pablo, also known as Before Pablo (BP) and Post Pablo (PP).

I followed ya because your appearances on Star Wars Show led me to learning who you were and, being a massive SW nerd, wanted slightly obscure people related to SW to follow 😂
Though I totally agree that the angry-naked-sweaty-keyboard-knights probably googled who to be mad at.

Most recently, Kelly Marie Tran left social media because she couldn’t stand the constant barrage of toxic fans — some misogynistic and racist — constantly being rude and berating her.
