Little is known about Matt Reeves’ upcoming The Batman project but it looks like some people have expressed interest in being a part of it. We got some information on the approach the film would be taking along with a possible release date but in regards to casting… not so much. Jon Hamm has expressed interest in taking on the Caped Crusader but that may not be likely since the film would apparently be going with a younger Bruce Wayne. There have been rumors that Robert Pattinson was being considered for the role but even that’s uncertain. However, a couple of big names have expressed interest in playing other characters from the DC comics including Voldemort himself Ralph Fiennes.
Fiennes is no stranger to DC related characters having voiced Alfred Pennyworth in The LEGO Batman Movie. It looks like the actor may want to play Batman’s butler/guardian again revealing in an interview with HeyUGuys that he would be on board to take on Alfred in the next live-action Batman film. He said:
“Yes, yes. I’d love to play Alfred. A lot of good people have gone before me, so I’d be happy to follow in their footsteps.”
Make it happen Warner! cause Fiennes would be bloody good! It would make sense to have a slightly younger Alfred as well (Fiennes is 56) since The Batman might be going with a younger Wayne. Hell, him just expressing interest in taking on the role is already something awesome to behold and we know the dude will be able to pull it off cause he’s a damn good actor. Warner, you may just have your Alfred right here.
