Anticipation for the latest Avengers: Infinity War is at an all-time high, with the blockbuster just under a week away. To add to the anticipation, there’s a new Chinese TV spot that was shared on Twitter. This TV spot features a scene where Spider-Man lands a devastating kick to Thanos’ face that sent him into another lifetime. Cross-referencing from previously released footage from the movie, chances are that this nifty sequence was before the Thanos gets his hands on the Spidey and slammed him on the ground. The spot also features a new scene with Doctor Strange catching some daggers via his mystical shields, possibly thrown by a Black Order member.
Spidey’s impressive high kick isn’t his only highlight. In an encounter with Star-Lord and his team, Peter introduces himself and his cohorts as the Avengers. The funny quip is intercut with Thor explaining who exactly the Avengers are in his own meeting with the Guardians inside the Milano. Quill obviously hasn’t heard of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes given the puzzled look on his face – a great callback to his own debut back in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie where Korath was likewise baffled who the “legendary outlaw” was despite being so confident when introducing himself.
Avengers: Infinity War is something of a beginning of the end, as it is the beginning of the culmination of this story arc which has featured 20 movies in over 10 years. Disney and Marvel Studios are busy ramping up promotion for the movie. While directors Joe and Anthony Russo travel to several cities around the world with some of the cast members, short TV spots are continuously airing to keep fans hyped up for the release and hopefully convince casual moviegoers to check the film out.
