We’ve known a bit of what’s to come in the much anticipated second season of Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why, but they just released a full-length trailer today. Netflix shared a cryptic teaser at the end of April and images from the show last week. Today, they finally debuted a two-minute trailer that offers more context for the new season.
The students of Liberty High are still feeling the aftermath of Hannah Baker’s (Katherine Langford) suicide, as well as the multiple accusations of sexual assault against sinister jock Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice). Liberty High prepares to go on trial, but someone will stop at nothing to keep the truth surrounding Hannah’s death concealed, however, a series of ominous polaroids lead Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) and his classmates to uncover a sickening secret and a conspiracy to cover it up.
“I felt like this whole thing was going to be over, but it’s not,” Clay says in the trailer. He turns over a Polaroid that reads “Hannah wasn’t the only one”. As more Polaroids are discovered, Clay and his classmates uncover secrets and a conspiracy meant to cover up the truth surrounding Hannah’s death. “What are you going to do about that?” a vision of Hannah asks Clay. “I can’t count on anyone else anymore, I have to do this myself,” Clay says. “No one’s going to get justice for her.”
Brian Yorkey created, produced and wrote 13 Reasons Why. The series is based on best-selling novel by Jay Asher, which revolves around the unexplained suicide of Hannah Baker. The series stars Dylan Minnette, Katherine Langford, Kate Walsh, Derek Luke, Brandon Flynn, Justin Prentice and Alisha Boe.
