Hellboy: Ron Perlman Pokes Fun At Reboot Using Anchorman Meme

It is pretty funny.

The upcoming Hellboy reboot looks like it’s going to offer a much more violent adaptation in the vein of its source material. Starring David Harbour (Stranger Things), the trailer for the film definitely promises a gloriously brutal film but it can be argued that some fans may be skeptical of this mostly due to the lack of Ron Perlman who starred in the Guillermo del Toro directed films before. Perlman starred as the titular character in Hellboy and its sequel The Golden Army and they were pretty good. The Golden Army didn’t perform wonderfully at the box-office however despite managing to rake in some cash.

Although having Harbour on board is still pretty cool, Perlman was great in the role and it would be kinda weird to not see him as the titular character. It looks like Perlman himself feels the same way albeit not in a malicious manner as he pokes a little fun at the Hellboy reboot in an Instagram post using an Anchorman meme in the process. Check out the post below:

That is pretty funny to be honest. In case some you don’t know, this little meme derives itself from a scene in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy when Steve Carell’s character in the film realizes Veronica Corningstone had replaced Ron Burgundy as the news anchor. Perlman’s probably not hostile towards Harbour as it’s just a little harmless joke. However, it would be interesting to see how Harbour takes on Hellboy and we sure hope he pulls it off.
