Into The Spider-Verse: Japanese Spider-Man May Appear In Sequel

Please don’t let this be a joke.

It’s insane how Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse managed to introduce us to various incarnations of the beloved web crawler without coming off as a bloated mess. As a matter of fact, it was the best superhero film of the year (Yeah, I said it) and possibly one of the best superhero films of the decade. We see a variety of Spider-people including two classic Peter Parkers, the lead Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham and Sp//dr/ introduced wonderfully in this animated fare.

With the film earning plenty of praise along with raking in some solid cash at the box-office, we can definitely expect an Into the Spider-Verse sequel sometime in the future. With the film’s producers expressing plenty of excitement to make a Spider-Ham standalone, we can assume that there would probably be more characters, perhaps more Spider related characters introduced in the future. it looks like one fairly interesting character may see an emergence in a sequel… a Spider character with Japanese roots and no, I’m not talking about Peni Parker (Her, we’re not too sure yet either)

Producer Phil Lord was tagged by a fan on Twitter who suggested the inclusion of Japanese Spider-Man in an Into the Spider-Verse sequel. Lord kinda entertained the idea but with a condition that he will do so if the film crosses $200 million domestically (United States and Canada). Check out the post below:

The film is already halfway there with a $104 million gross in domestically along with $109 million gross outside North America. With these numbers, we’re probably getting that Into the Spider-Verse sequel but as for a Japanese Spider-Man, that’s a little uncertain. It’s unsure if Lord is for real with this deal but if he is, that would be bloody awesome. Japanese Spider-Man is f–king hilarious and would be an awesome addition to the Spider-Verse.
