With Zombieland 2 expected to be released later this year along with production to start pretty soon, we can expect things to go according to plan. The long overdue sequel to the post-apocalyptic zombie comedy film will see a return from the main cast of the original including Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin. These four managed to elevate the original by bringing plenty of humor, charisma and balls to the film but they’re not the only memorable faces from the film.
One of the most memorable parts of the original Zombieland would be a surprise cameo from none other than Bill Murray. We see the comedy icon in action with plenty of flare and humor but we also see him (spoiler alert) dying so that was kinda sad. However, it looks like that may not really be the case if this report is true as Bill Murray will reportedly be returning for Zombieland 2 and would be bringing another Ghostbuster into the mix.
Geeks Worldwide reports that Bill Murray and fellow Ghostbusters star Dan Aykroyd will be joining the cast of Zombieland 2. There isn’t much word on the circumstances or size of their roles in regards to the narrative but they will apparently be playing fictionalized versions of themselves.
If this is true, it would no doubt be pretty damn awesome to see these comedic icons back together. Also, there are some questions to raise in regards to Murray since he died in the original film. Granted, Zombieland 2 is probably not gonna be something you should take too seriously so they can probably come up with something. The cast of the film is increasing with Zoey Deutch and Avan Jogia on board and now with this report, we can expect something interesting.
