Carrie Coon Is One Of Thanos’ Henchmen in Infinity War

Who could it be?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has gone from a man in a suit to one of the biggest ensemble movies put on screen. With new characters constantly being introduced to the big screen and the release of Avengers: Infinity War drawing closer, the MCU doesn’t show any sign of slowing down. Everyone knows that Thanos is the big baddie in the upcoming Infinity War film. But surely, he can’t be taking on The Avengers alone? He’ll be needing minions to do some of his dirty work. That’s where the Black Order comes in, a new group of villainy in the MCU.

Several actors are lending their talents to the roles of Thanos’ henchmen in the latest installment of the long-running franchise. In an interview with Radio Timesdirectors of Infinity War, The Russo Brothers announced that  Carrie Coon lends her voice to one of the members of the Black Order — Proxima Midnight. Joe Russo had this to say:

“Carrie Coon is Proxima Midnight and you may know her from season three of Fargo or the Leftovers.”

The Russo brothers also confirmed that Irish actor Tom Vaughan-Lawlor and popular motion-capture performer Terry Notary play Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian respectively. And fans are speculating that Tyrion Lannister himself, Peter Dinklage will be playing Pip the Troll, but there is yet to be official confirmation on that front.

To those unfamiliar, the Black Order is a group of cosmic super-villains also known as the ‘Children of Thanos’.  They join forces with Thanos in order to obtain the Infinity Stones from The Illuminati-compromising of Iron-Man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther and others. In the process, they wreak havoc around the globe (standard cosmic super-villain stuff).

It is unclear how the plot will carry itself in Infinity War as some members of The Illuminati would consist of characters that do not fall under the rights of Disney’s Marvel. It is also doubtful that any of our beloved heroes would call themselves ‘The Illuminati’ because that would only raise eye-brows to if one is unfamiliar with the source material. However, the members of the Black Order are looking to be a formidable threat in the MCU and with a cast like this, It looks to be an epic foray into cosmic proportions.
