Film adaptations of beloved video game properties have never really been something Hollywood’s good at with a lot of them being mediocre to god-awful. However, that won’t stop film execs from churning out whatever they can based off the properties even when they’ve already done some of them. There’s going to be a reboot of the Resident Evil film series along with a Call of Duty film… oh and also a Five Nights at Freddy’s film. That’s not all though and it’s still gonna be some time till wee see anything from those films but it looks like we’ve just gotten something from another upcoming video game film with the likes of a Sonic the Hedgehog film motion poster.
The iconic Sonic the Hedgehog from Sega has seen one hell of a run in the video game industry. We’ve seen other incarnations of the beloved character but mostly in television but it looks like the boys in the film industry are taking a major crack at Sonic with a live action animated film. Set to be released in November next year, we’re finally getting a little look at it in a new motion poster for the film.
IGN has the exclusive on the Sonic the Hedgehog motion poster. Check it out below:
It looks… furry and kinda ominous but yeah, can’t derive much else from this poster but it really is a wonder how they’re going to take this and bring it to film. The whole live-action/animated hybrid is kind of a gamble in regards to a film’s quality but it isn’t really an uncommon practice but depending on the direction the film is taking, the way Sonic looks is definitely going to be a big deal. Hopefully, director Jeff Fowler knows what he’s doing with this film.
