Indiana Jones 5: Karen Allen Expresses Interest In Returning As Marion

It would be nice to get the band back together.

Among the many Hollywood franchises we’ve seen today ranging from Star Wars to the MCU, the Indiana Jones franchise stands out as one of the best. The Harrison Ford led action-fantasy film series has seen a ton of success throughout the years that saw four entries with most of them being good. The installment that pissed a lot of people off would no doubt be the fourth entry, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull released in 2008 but we have an Indiana Jones 5 being planned and we sure we hope it’ll do the franchise justice.

The first film Raiders of the Lost Ark released in 1981 is a masterpiece delivering plenty of fun from director Steven Spielberg and star Ford. One of the most iconic characters in the film would be Marion played by Karen Allen who saw a return (sadly not in a very good film) in Crystal Skull. With an Indiana Jones 5 being planned albeit with little news of it moving forward, it’s a wonder if she would make a return considering that (spoiler) Marion and Indy got married at the end of the film. Well, it looks like she’d be willing to.

Speaking with Cinemablend, Allen discussed her potential involvement with Indiana Jones 5 revealing that she hasn’t been contacted by Lucasfilm about the film but expressed great interest in being part of it. She said:

“I’m patiently waiting, no they haven’t [called]. I’m very much hoping that I will be a part of it and I think, from my understanding, they are creatively working away on a script that they will be happy enough with. They don’t want to rush into it If they’re going to do this they want it to be wonderful.”

That should be the case to be honest as it’s best to not rush into anything until they at least get a decent story intact. It would suck if we get another Crystal Skull so Indiana Jones 5 should take its time to deliver us a fantasy action film that would rival Raiders or at the very least The Last Crusade (Not Temple of Doom, that one was weird).
