Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth’s big-budget film 2.0 is set to hit the theatres tomorrow and there is a strong buzz around the film. The most awaited movie of the year, 2.0 is the sequel to Shankar’s hit Enthiraan.
2.0, also featuring Amy Jackson as the leading lady, is directed by S Shankar, who had also helmed the film’s prequel, the 2010 film Robot that starred Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Danny Denzongpa in the lead roles.
In the first installment, Rajinikanth played a double role but for the second part, Shankar has roped in Akshay Kumar to play the villain. Set years after the incidents played in the first movie, 2.0 follows a super-villain, played by Akshay Kumar, who controls all the mobile phones in the city and makes them do his bidding. To tackle the monster, Vaseegaram brings back Chitti.
While Rajinikanth is back as Chitti, a robot, and its designer Vaseegaran, Akshay Kumar plays a mysterious winged monster who terrorises people, forcing Vaseegaran to reassemble and upgrade Chitti. This is why the movie has been titled 2.0. The film also features Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in key roles. AR Rahman has composed the music for the film.
