The upcoming Joker film starring Joaquin Phoenix is definitely proving to be an intriguing affair. The Todd Philips directed DC film will see Phoenix taking on the role of the Clown Prince of Crime alongside a slew of talented cast members. The cast which include the likes of Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, Brett Cullen, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron, Bill Camp, Glenn Fleshner, Doughlas Hodge and Shea Whigham among others indicate a comic book film unlike the many others we’ve been seeing of late.
We’ve been getting a ton of set photos surrounding the film which could either be a good thing or a bad thing. The team may need to tighten up security is this isn’t really what they want but it’s been going on for a while and it’s a wonder if they’re actually cool with it. Now, we got a new set of photos which could probably give us a bit more information on what to expect from the film.
Just Jared shared a batch of new photos featuring Phoenix as Arthur Fleck (Joker’s real name in the film) at a cemetery visiting a grave. Donning a maroon three-piece suit that isn’t something you’d see at a funeral, one could say that he’s just visiting the grave but then again, this suit is somewhat similar to the suit we’ve seen him wear while in make-up so it could be telling of something. One would assume that the grave is his mother Penny Fleck’s grave, possibly being one of the experiences that would prompt him to turn to a life of crime. One would even say that it has something to do with the photos featuring Arthur running to Bruce Wayne (Brett Cullen) attempting to show him a mysterious photo, perhaps even with the notion of Wayne being Arthur’s father.
Maybe it does seem like we’re getting too much information but it’s hard to say how early on in the film all this takes place. We can expect a lot of things to turn sour in Arthur’s life leading him to becoming the Joker we all know, fear and love. This could be one of those experiences but I guess we’ll know for sure once the film is out.
