Hugh Jackman Unlikely To Return For Wolverine And Deadpool Crossover

Maybe it’s best to end it the way it did in Logan.

It’s safe to say that there’ll never be another Wolverine like Huge Jackman and it is unlikely that we’ll see him reprise his role as the iconic character anytime soon. Jackman took on the role in the X-Men franchise including X-Men Origins: Wolverine which also included Ryan Reynold’s role as Deadpool which in that film wasn’t well received. The last time we saw Jackman as the character was in the acclaimed comic book masterpiece Logan which alongside Deadpool proved that Rated-R comic book films can prove to be successful at the box-office.

The Deadpool films so far have been great and Reynolds himself has expressed some hope of seeing a Deadpool and Wolverine crossover with Jackman returning for the role. However, it looks like Jackman doesn’t really want to reprise his role despite his pal Ryan constantly bugging him about it.

In an interview with People, Jackman spoke on the character and also the possibility of seeing a Wolverine/Deadpool crossover. Although he didn’t outright shut down the idea of seeing the two together on scree, he did reveal that he isn’t really too keen on being a part of the idea. He said:

“Ryan is relentless. He keeps coming back to me in all these ways, shapes and forms, I just said, ‘You know, I just don’t think the world really wants to see Deadpool with Wolverine.’ Maybe a cameo from Deadpool? I just think it runs over it for Deadpool.”

We might see someone recast as Wolverine but it seems that Jackman himself is done with the role. It wouldn’t be a surprise if we see somewhat of a cameo from Jackman whether as himself or his iconic character but for now, Jackman looks like he just wants to end it the way it ended beautifully in Logan.
