We know that Game of Thrones season 8 is going to be one hell of an event for fans of the acclaimed HBO series. The eight season that will drop in April 2019 will be the do all end all for our beloved characters since it’s the final season in the series. There’s going to be six episodes, the least number of episodes in a season for the series so they’re gotta have nothing but meat there. However, it could be disappointing in a way cause there’ll be less episodes but it looks like less can also mean more.
Director David Nutter who will be directing three episodes of the eight season revealed that the episodes will be pretty damn long. He revealed via Reddit on the Game of Thrones subreddit that each episode of the final season will be more than 60 minutes long. He said:
“Season 8 episodes will all I think be longer than 60 minutes. They’ll be dancing around the bigger numbers, I know that for sure.”
He did say “all I think” but we can assume that most of them would be over 60 minutes long. This isn’t a huge surprise and it’s great news as it’s always good to have as much of a punch as possible in your episodes especially when there’s only a few. The episodes don’t always go above the hour mark but from what he says, it seems like the run-time may be go beyond that and more for season 8. It would suck that it’s the end for Game of Thrones but with a prequel underway, us Thrones fans still have something to look forward to.
