Dark Phoenix: We Can Expect A Much More Mature Cyclops In The Movie

Sounds like he’s going to be someone to really pay attention to in the movie.

Dark Phoenix looks like it’s really going to be something that’s gonna blow our minds away with how things looked in the trailer. The film, which is the feature directorial debut of Simon Kinberg is quite possibly one of the most anticipated films of 2019 that will see The Dark Phoenix Saga tackled again with hopes of it to finally nail the iconic comic book story-line especially since X-Men: The Last Stand didn’t do it justice.

Sophie Turner’s Jean Gray looks like she’s going to really bring a lot of depth and some multi-layered struggle with the Phoenix Force. Yep, Jean looks like she’s going to be a handful for the X-Men but one person that Jean’s ordeal would really take a toll on is Scott Summers AKA Cyclops. Well, the two dig each other as we all know but with how things are gonna go down, Scott’s characterization is going to be something to pay attention to.

Tye Sheridan who plays Scott spoke with Screen Rant during the year’s New York Comic-Con revealing a little on what we can expect from Scott in Dark Phoenix. He didn’t give much away in regards to the plot but he did note that Scott is going to be far more mature in the film. He said:

“He’s maybe the most affected by what happens to Jean and kinda this unraveling…When she starts to encounter and struggles to handle and I think he’s directly in front of that. And she’s the one that he loves. He’s going to go to the end of the Earth to save her. And I think that he and Charles kind of set out to help Jean. And throughout the movie you kinda see the X-Men break apart. I think it’s a much more mature version of him. He’s much more focused on getting back to Jean and helping to save her. So it’s really exciting. And there’s also some really fragile moments with him, because it’s not easy to handle the fact that the one you love may be going crazy or you don’t know what’s happening…”

Well, that sure as hell better be the case cause there’s a lot riding on this film to finally deliver on the Phoenix story-line. Unlike The Last Stand, Scott looks like he may serve as something of vital importance to the film just like many of the other characters. Even with the trailer, there’s still a lot in the dark in regards to this film but hopefully we get something of worth especially following the disappointing X-Men: Apocalypse.
