The Hobbs & Shaw spin-off to the Fast and Furious franchise starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham looks like it’s going to be pure stupid fun. Let’s be honest here, we’re going to be entertained but in no way are we going to have to use our heads when watching a film starring The Rock let alone a Fast and Furious spin-off.
Along with Johnson and Statham who are reprising their roles as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw respectively, we have Idris Elba joining them. Well, not joining them but will be going against them as the main villain for this David Leitch (John Wick, Deadpool 2) directed flick. We don’t really know much on the plot (If this film even has one) but we may be able to gather a bit more info with this new image of Elba as the baddie.
The film started production last month and the cast members are expressing plenty on enthusiasm for the film. Johnson took to Instagram to share an image of Elba in character for the film and also the villain’s name in the film along with a little info on his reputation. Check it out below:

I learned a long time ago (when I was a very sinful eyebrow raising villainous man in the crazy world of pro wrestling;) that heroes are only as great as their greatest villains. A pleasure to introduce the man himself @idriselba we brought in to our Fast & Furious franchise to wreak havoc, hell and mayhem on our heroes HOBBS & SHAW. The name: BRIXTON. The record: UNDEFEATED. The promise: SHOWDOWN OF ALL SHOWDOWNS. So cool having my brother @idriselba come and play in our sandbox. This one’s been years in the making!! As I always say, we either gonna get along or we gonna get it on… and fuck getting along 😈 #BRIXTON #TheConsequenceAgent #HellRaiser HOBBS & SHAW SUMMER 2019 📸 @hhgarcia41
With the record being undefeated, it looks like this Brixton guy may be one formidable opponent for Hollywood’s favorite bald men. Then again, Johnson could just be sprinkling some hype with this but Elba has proven to be a good villain in the past having voiced Shere Khan in Disney’s live-action The Jungle Book and also as Krall in Star Trek Beyond. It’s unclear how crazy he is as a baddie but judging from their uniforms, his crew doesn’t look like some low-end gang and Elba looks like he’s not to be trifled with.
