Rev your engines boys and shave your heads, Fast and Furious 9‘s about to go full throttle pretty soon and…. Okay, I’m out of ignorant car references so I’ll just get to it. The Fast and Furious films have come a long way since its early days of street racing, now becoming more or less the Impossible Mission Force. The films have been fun with Fast and Furious 5 being the turning point for the franchise with its balls to the wall action and proved that these guys can go bigger and badder.
The franchise doesn’t seem to be hitting the brakes anytime soon though with a Hobbs & Shaw spin-off set to be released next year and also with Fast and Furious 9 in the works. It looks like Fast and Furious 9 will be moving forward pretty soon though as GWW reports that shooting for the film will begin on April 20th next year (Hehe.. 4/20).
With director Justin Lin back in the helm having directed four of the films including Fast 5, Fast and Furious 9 will have a new writer on the team. Screenwriter Daniel Casey will take over script duties from Chris Morgan who penned all the scripts since The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift so things may seem a little different this time around.
It’s gonna be a while till we see the end of this franchise but if people watch them, they’ll keep making them. With Lin back we can expect all the stunts we’ve come to expect from the Fast films and perhaps even the return of Brian O’ Conner!!! Hey, that’s no joke… his brothers said they would be interested in bringing him back.
