Avatar 2 May Include Creatures From Its Flight Of Passage Disney Ride

The oceans are vast and there’s plenty to explore.

You would assume that the highest grossing film of all time would get a sequel made almost instantaneously but that’s not the case with James Cameron’s Avatar. Released in 2009, the film broke records and was a real visual wonder of a film despite being kinda derivative in its narrative. However, the world was intriguing to get audiences interested in a sequel which was definitely promised but yet to be seen. We know that they have been working on sequels for the blockbuster smash hit but nearly a decade later, it’s a wonder if audiences still give a s–t about an Avatar 2.

Not much is known about it but it seems that the sequel will be exploring the oceans of Pandora greatly and would even feature some critters from a Disney World ride. Speaking with Inside the Magic, producer Jon Landau revealed the possibility of having creatures from the Avatar: Flight of Passage ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Take into account that he didn’t confirm anything but this is what he said:

“As we’ve moved on with the sequels to Avatar we made a very conscious decision to stage the whole four sequels on Pandora. We don’t need to go to another world if we want water, we’re going to go to the oceans of Pandora. Just like you see in Flight of Passage. Also, some of those creatures that you see (on Flight of Passage), don’t be surprised if they show up in the films.”

Not sure if any of you have actually been on the ride but it does seem pretty cool. It’s not much to work on and it’s definitely something that would serve more in the design realm of the film but it’s nice to see this much ambition being put into it.

Landau also said that Avatar 2 will explore different environments, clans and cultures which could really explore the world and build an amazing franchise in the process. It’s definitely been a while and if we’re being honest, this film could just be one hell of a blockbuster success just like its predecessor with plans of it being released in December of 2020. Hopefully, people still give a sh–t.
