Infinity War Directors On Tony Stark’s Dream About Having A Son

It was all just a dream.

Avengers: Infinity War came out months ago and fans are still picking apart the film. Some of these theories may have some validity to them and some seem like straight up wishful thinking. Although there are plenty of things that fans are still thinking about when it comes to certain lines of dialogue or even character actions that could seem like foreshadowing in some sense, some of them however, remain what they are- dialogue.

One piece of dialogue near the beginning of the film in which Tony Stark discusses a dream with Pepper Potts has been given some light. In the scene, Tony discussed a dream of which had a son describing to be very real before Doctor Strange and Bruce Banner showed up to c–kblock him.

During the Vudu-hosted viewing party which celebrated Infinity War’s digital release, The Avengers official Twitter account live-tweeted the event. Director-duo, Anthony and Joe Russo took several fan questions with one of them pertaining to Tony’s dream asking if it was not just a dream but a vision. Bursting a bubble, they clarified that it was just a dream but also added that dreams are mysterious.

You can’t really blame the guy since Tony has had a history with visions (sorta) as in Iron-Man 3 in which he was haunted with the premonition of another alien attack following the Battle of New York. Well, perhaps this dream was just a dream but then again, dreams are mysterious as they mentioned above so perhaps this may hold some sort of significance later on.

Maybe it was also a slight hint by the filmmakers to say that Tony Stark might just be retiring soon. Robert Downey Jr. is getting old and would not likely play Iron-Man forever. Even if he does do so, the character might just take a back seat and let the new guys handle things. But, remember… it was all just a dream.
