Suicide Squad Director Has Met With Gotham City Sirens Creator

Gee, I wonder why.

Despite their tumultuous film repertoire, the DCEU still has plenty of plans for the franchise including a spin-off adaptation of Suicide Squad based off Gotham City Sirens. Yes, no matter how bad Suicide Squad was… we’re still getting more of them (sorta) and it was announced that David Ayer would be returning to direct. It looks like that plan is coming into fruition as Ayer has met up with Gotham City Sirens creator, Paul Dini.

In case of you are unaware, Gotham City Sirens follows three of the most popular female villains in Gotham City whom are Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Poison Ivy and was published from 2009 to 2011. Not much is known about the film but we do know that Margot Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn and now, we know that Ayer has met with the creator of the comics himself.

Ayer posted a photo on Twitter of him and Dini together and one would assume that this has something to do with the film. Check out the image below:

It’s pretty obvious that Ayer is telling fans that he’s working on the film, and that the two are definitely coming up with something for the story. They could just be meeting up for a beer but even so there’s a chance that some ideas are being discussed for the film.

Ayer being back to direct could either be a good thing or a bad thing since he’s had great films like End of Watch and bad ones like Suicide Squad. Perhaps this could be his moment of redemption but with plans of a Bright sequel (I don’t know why that is even being made) from Ayer, it’s a wonder how long till we get a chance to see the film. It does seem more likely for The Birds of Prey film to be released first and possibly set up Gotham City Sirens but we’ll see.
