Nicolas Cage Reported To Voice Spider-Man Noir In Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse

Another reason to watch this film.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is probably one of the most anticipated animated films this year and also one of the most anticipated films of the year after seeing the trailer. With a star studded cast featuring Shameik Moore, Mahershala Ali, Hailee Steinfield and Jake Johnson, the film is looking to serve up one hell of a ride with these voices behind the characters. It looks like that list has added the craziest man alive! okay, maybe that’s too far, but Nicolas Cage has reportedly been added to voice a Spider-Man, that’s right… A Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse follows Miles Morales as he juggles his personal life and his life as Spider-Man. He meets an adult Peter Parker who is also Spider-man and teaches him to become well, Spider-Man. Clearly this film would explore the Spider-verse which various Spider-Men and Women ( Spider-Gwen is in it) exists. According to Discussing Film, Nicolas Cage will be voicing Spider-Man Noir, a different incarnation of the web crawler.

This alternate take on Spidey sets itself in the 1930s Great Depression Era and is a much darker incarnation of the character, residing in the Marvel Noir universe. Not much is known about what this Spidey would do in the film but it’ll probably be interesting to see how they all interact with one another especially since Noir is vastly different from the rest.

Cage has had experience with superhero films in the past with Ghost Rider which isn’t actually a good thing and the superhero gem that more people should be talking about, Kick-Ass. It’s unsure how much of an impact Cage would make for Spider-Man Noir but he is a solid actor, an over-the-top actor, yes but a solid one at that. The film would now definitely has the star-power to do well at the box-office if the trailer isn’t enough to win audiences.
