It didn’t offer much aside from a clip of an unknown individual opening his/her locker and grabbing a brown paper bag in which its content are unknown. The shots zoom in to the numbers on the locker knob, cutting with closer shots at ’20’, ‘0’ and ’10’ (or somewhere around there, it’s a little unclear). The individual then shuts the locker as the number ‘3’ is tagged on it.
For now, it’s hard to say what this means but there’s a chance it has some sort of significance in the story later on. Maybe there are clues spread about in the series that I didn’t really notice but I’ll leave its avid fans to dissect that. The brown bag could mean a gun, but that’s just speculation and there’s a chance season 3 will tackle something else especially after the events of the final episode in season 2. Hannah Baker and Bryce’s actions on the other hand won’t likely be forgotten.
The cliffhanger ending of season 2 left a lot of questions hanging in the air along with how season 3 will handle things. Clay managed to stop Tyler from committing a school shooting as Tyler hands him the rifle. Clay holds on to the rifle as Justin and Jessica remain with him in front of the school. The camera then pans out calling an end to the second season. Maybe Clay would get caught for possession and another court case is in session or maybe he’ll throw the rifle behind a bush or something.
Season 2 may have had some problems and some would even consider it ‘bad’ evidenced by the 28% score on Rotten Tomatoes but weirdly enough, it had some impressive moments. From the leaked tapes scene in Episode 8 and even the Tyler-Monty scene (god, that scene!) in the final episode, the show does have the ability to shock and impress when it’s characters aren’t being too stupid (maybe that’s an unpopular opinion). Nonetheless, there will no doubt be more to come and honestly, I’m curious.
