The Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently in upheaval after the events of Infinity War. It was an ending that felt pretty hopeless and bleak. While we know that most of the characters that turned to dust with the snap of Thanos’ fingers will return, it isn’t clear who will return or even how at this point. Dave Bautista’s Drax was one of the casualties in Avengers: Infinity War, but that doesn’t mean he’s done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Bautista has confirmed that he’ll return for Avengers 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
During a recent interview with Collider, Bautista reassured fans that he’ll reprise his role as Drax in Avengers 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 even though he still doesn’t know how that will happen.
I got a lot of texts saying, ‘I can’t believe you’re dead, your character is dead.’ They were really like heartbroken and I was like ‘I’m gonna be in four. I’m gonna be in Guardians 3.’
Marvel Studios has had an erratic history with really bad secret keepers. While Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo take the cake for spilling the beans in multiple instances, Bautista is another name you can add to that list.
However, Bautista confirming Drax’s appearance in Avengers 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is a nice reassurance that the good guys will ultimately win against Thanos’ cruelty. We’ll have to wait until 2019 to see exactly how our beloved heroes are brought back, but at least Bautista’s comments give us a glimmer of hope for Avengers 4.
Avengers: Infinity War is out in cinemas now.
