The Rock Confirms Start Date For Disney’s Jungle Cruise

The actor also signs the biggest contract of his career for this movie.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been a part of some massive films and franchises over the last few years, making him one of the biggest movie stars on the planet. He may be the highest paid actor in the world, but he still gets nervous just like everyone else. The Rock posted a video on social media that shows him about to sign what he says is the biggest contract of his career for Jungle Cruise. He took to Instagram to share the video, also announcing that filming will begin next week, starting on Monday, May 21.

The actor said that he was nervous to sign the contract, not just because it was the biggest of his career, but also because this has been a dream of his for quite some time. He ended the post with a message to the late Walt Disney himself, promising to do his best to make him proud.

Jungle Cruise is a movie that takes place in the early 20th century. It follows riverboat captain Frank (Johnson) as he takes a scientist (Emily Blunt) and her brother (Jack Whitehall) on a journey to find a mystical tree in South America. Edgar Ramírez and Jesse Plemons co-star as a pair of villains who want the mystical tree for themselves and compete with Frank in the race to find the tree first.

Jaume Collet-Serra is directing the movie Logan writer Michael Green crafted the most recent draft of the script, which was rewritten from the screenplay by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. 

The film currently doesn’t have a release date.
