Alden Ehrenreich says that he would like the Solo franchise to follow the Indiana Jones mould, in that each film is its own separate adventure. Alden Ehrenreich takes over the role of Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story, which features scenes from Han’s history that are already iconic in the minds of fans.
Speaking to Screen Rant, Ehrenreich addressed the future of the Solo franchise and gave his suggestion for how the next movies should play out.
Well, I think I just want to see more of his relationships with these characters. I think that would be really a lot of fun. And I think each being its own kind of adventure story and like almost the Indiana Jones mold would be pretty fricking cool.
It’ll be interesting to see these movies serve as standalone adventures instead of the usual three-story arc. Taking the Indiana Jones route could end up paying off massively, though there is a risk. Meanwhile, early fan reactions from the film have been immensely supportive of Ehrenreich’s performance.
Like 2016’s Rogue One, Solo is meant to be a standalone film and introduces new droids as well as new space creatures. The film also stars Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Joonas Suotamo, and Paul Bettany. The film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur, and Simon Emanuel. Jason McGatlin served as an executive producer alongside Chris Miller and Phil Lord. The screenplay was penned by Lawrence and Jonathan Kasdan.
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25.
