You Can Now Watch Watchmen For Free Until the End of the Week

Damon Lindelof’s HBO series Watchmen is arguably the best comic book TV series of all time, heck there is an argument to be made that it’s one of the best TV series of all time, as well. The series premiered close to a year ago to tremendous reviews from critics and fans. So, why are we talking about it now?

Well, one of the reasons why the series is so brilliant, is because of its political commentary on systemic racism. Given everything that’s been going on in the world right now, the show feels more relevant than ever. And in light of that, HBO is making the entire nine-episode series available to anyone to watch for free right now till the end of the week, on HBO.com.

According to a press release (per The Verge), HBO is making the episodes free as “an extension of the network’s content offering highlighting Black experiences, voices and storytellers. HBO says that it’s proud to offer the “timely, poignant series that explores the legacy of systemic racism in America” to anyone who wants to watch.

In a THR roundtable, showrunner Damon Lindelof said, “It’s all of our collective jobs to understand the history of policing in this country. We kind of need to understand it, we need to do our homework, and then hopefully that will inform our storytelling.”

Malaysians who want to watch the complete series can do so on Astro Go / HBO Go, though you would have to be a subscriber to do it.
