The marketing campaigns for Christopher Nolan films are always magnificent. Not only are the trailers always heart-pounding, they also successfully create intrigue and build curiosity without revealing anything. Take Tenet for example, which is for many, myself included, one of the most anticipated films of the year. What do we know about it, exactly? Something something “World War III.” Something something “hasn’t happened yet.” Oh sh*t, the car just did a weird flip and now it’s driving in reverse!! Both the trailers that have been released are cohesive, yet cryptic, they tell their own stories without divulging much from the film itself.
For the longest time, there wasn’t even an official synopsis of Tenet, which caused fans to speculate on what the movie could be about. Now, Warner Bros has finally revealed the synopsis of the film and well, as expected, it doesn’t tell us anything.
Tenet official synopsis:
Armed with only one word – Tenet – and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time. Not time travel. Inversion.
What on earth is a time “inversion?!” Well, whatever it is, it has certainly gotten me hyped!
