It looks like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Emily Blunt had a great time together on the set of Disney’s upcoming adventure film, Jungle Cruise, as they’re once again gearing up to star in another film together. This time, it’s going to be set in the world of superheroes. Deadline reports that Blunt and The Rock will be starring in Ball and Chain a superhero film based on Scott Lobdell’s four-part comic series of the same name.
The screenplay is written by Emily V. Gordon who co-wrote The Big Sick with her husband, Kumail Nanjiani. Kevin Misher (Fighting With My Family) will produce alongside Johnson and his Seven Bucks partners Dany and Hiram Garcia, while Blunt will produce as well. Interestingly, despite the film’s blockbuster packaging, it seems like Ball and Chain will not be wide-released in theatres. While many studios are currently bidding for the property, Deadline reports that Netflix appears to be the current frontrunner.

Right when they decided to get a divorce, a mysterious meteor gave them superpowers. What’s interesting is, the powers are only active when they’re together.
