Part of Justice League’s Post-Credits Scene Was Apparently A Joss Whedon Reshoot

Looks like it wasn’t all Zack Snyder.

Joss Whedon may have had a hand to play in Justice League‘s final credits scene. Featuring the debut of Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, the post-credits stinger also teased the formation of Warner Bros.’ and DC Films’ movie version of the Legion of Doom.

Fans were much aware that the end-credits bit was Snyder’s idea, unlike its mid-credits stinger which was completely Whedon’s brainchild. But as it turns out, Whedon may have also done some last minute tweaks in the scene.

According to cinematographer Simon Firsht, coming from reel video posted on his official YouTube channel, he implies that Whedon may have something to do with the particular stinger. While it’s already known that Snyder filmed the scene on location in Monte Carlo, the scene clapper for Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor close-up during the interaction suggests that Whedon shot that particular scene. Whedon also likely changed some of Luthor’s dialogue during the reshoots.

Both Snyder and Whedon are no longer actively involved in the DCEU, apart from Snyder’s producing credits for in forthcoming films, but their work will arguably have left behind a lasting impression on the franchise.
