Endgame Fan Theory: Tony Stark Dies Over 14 Million Times

An experience like that could seriously mess someone up.

With Avengers: Endgame inching closer and closer to its release date, we are being bombarded with a number of theories that might give us an idea on what to expect in the upcoming film. Some of them seem pretty plausible such as the introduction of Professor Hulk and some of them seem a tad bit complicated. This latest one has to do with Tony Stark AKA Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and it may very well be one of the more depressing ones.

We got some pretty depressing theories with one highlighting how the O.G. Avengers would have to sacrifice themselves to save the day and this latest one from Reddit user u/alexandrepigeot seems to fall in the same vein. You can check out the full theory here but to summarize, the theory indicates that Tony Stark may have died/or will die/or have to die (time is relative) over 14 million times (14,000,604 to precise).

The theory suggests that Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) may have placed Tony Stark in a time loop in order to witness 14 million futures which in turn would give him a shit ton of time to prepare himself in space. He will apparently die over 14 million times and well, come back until he finally succeeds in “saving the day”.

Tony StarkThe theory highlights Dr. Strange saying that there were 14,000,605 futures that he visited with only one of them ended with the crew being victorious. Strange only had a brief moment of doing so before the decimation so the theory implies that he may have possibly told Tony Stark and Nebula (since they didn’t get dusted) about the one good scenario, putting them in a time loop to die over and over again until they figure out a way to come out victorious.

This does make some sense as Endgame‘s trailer does depict Tony in a much calmer and somewhat defeated state possibly accepting this time loop of his, maybe even giving up trying (The dude may be depressed). Like, dying that many times and coming back could really take a toll on someone. This Groundhog Day-esque scenario could be possible and it is pretty damn intriguing but hell, that just a theory. The end product could be wholly different but I guess we’ll find out this April.

Avengers: Endgame is scheduled to be released on April 26, 2019
