The biggest film to release this year, around the world, is without a doubt Avengers: Endgame. While the movie is months away from its release, a million theories have been doing the rounds of the internet that are keeping the fans as well as the audience busy. Well, there is some good news for all the fans out there. Marvel Studios has had as many as four test screenings of the epic superhero ensemble. And if Russo Brothers, the director duo of the movie, are to be believed then the response from the test audience is phenomenal.
Speaking with Collider, Russo Brothers also revealed that the current run time of the movie is still 3 hours. They said, “I think the studio is down with what the best story is. Right now, we think the movie is playing well and we’ve had great responses from our test audiences and we’re feeling very good about where it is. We’re still doing work to it. We’re not done with it. Again, this is a culmination film of 22 movies, it’s a lot of storytelling to work into it. Emotion is an intrinsic part of that to us. When you have to tell a really complicated story and you want strong emotional moments with the characters, it just requires a certain amount of real estate. This one, in particular, feels like three hours worth of real estate.”
Further talking about the audience’s response they revealed that out of the four screenings, in three screenings not one person walked out even to go to pee. When asked about the possibility of an interval in the movie considering the run time, they said, “We have screened the movie four times for audiences now. For the first three screenings, not a single person got up to go to the bathroom.”
They also revealed that the movie is still on the editing table. They said that they are “halfway through the editing process”.
Avengers: Endgame is slated for an April 26 release.
