Tom Hanks Recorded His Last Lines For Toy Story 4

The fourth instalment in the franchise is due to be released in June.

While many of us aren’t quite over the emotional destruction Toy Story 3 left on our hearts, it’s time to prepare ourselves for Toy Story 4. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen just wrapped their final lines for the movie — which will likely be the last of the franchise, but who knows — and whew, it’s about to get dusty in here.

Tom Hanks shared an image of his final recording session as Woody for Toy Story 4, and honestly — we’re not ready to say goodbye to one of the most beloved characters of all time.

“Final line, final session as Woody of Toy Story 4,” he writes in the caption. “We rode like the wind, to infinity and beyond. Hanx.”

The fourth installment of the much-loved franchise is due to be unveiled this summer. The 62-year-old actor has voiced the lovable Pixar character for 23 years and over four films, along with Tim Allen who played foe turned best friend Buzz Lightyear.

A teaser trailer released last year showed Woody and Buzz Lightyear are reunited with their old friends, along with a new addition. The short clip showed long-running characters including Mr. Potato Head, Jessie, Rex, Hamm and Slinky Dog floating through a cloudy sky while holding hands. A new character, a spork with googly eyes called Forky, is also part of the line-up. The film follows Woody as he takes the newcomer under his wing.

The film is due to be released on 21 June.
