That’s right, you can get paid to watch Game Of Thrones from beginning to end. A £35,000 (RM190000) salary to watch loads of Game of Thrones, what’s the catch? Well, there is only one position going. The job comes courtesy of NowTV – and the streaming service will be offering one lucky person the chance to take a ‘box-set sabbatical’.
Essentially what this means is that they’re going to pay someone a lot of money – £35,000 to be exact – to binge-watch box-sets every day for an entire year. Although it’s not quite as clear-cut as that. In fact, the term employment is a bit loose here.
The opportunity comes after the company did a survey and found that nearly a quarter of Brits felt left out socially when friends, family or colleagues are talking about a show they haven’t seen. The study also showed that a fifth of Brits have done a classic all-nighter to catch up on their favourite TV box set – or crammed in an episode over lunch or even bunked off work to watch TV.
The winner will also be given a Now TV smart stick, plus 12 months of Now TV passes, so they can get watching shows such as Game of Thrones, The Sopranos and The Walking Dead. The opportunity is actually listed as a competition and the winner will receive a cash prize of £35,000.
The money will be paid by The Promoter to the winner via cheque, made payable in the winner’s name only. This will be split into twelve monthly cheque payments, which will be sent to the winner’s home address on or around the 15th of each month.
Payment will commence on 15 March 2019 to 15 February 2020. So, while it’s not quite a job, it’s still £35k. Entries are now open and close at midnight, Thursday 14 February 2019. Further details on how to enter, as well as full terms and conditions, can be found here.
The epic fantasy series Game of Thrones will return for its six-episode, eighth and final season April 14, 2019.
