Relatively fresh off its release and we can gladly say that James Wan has delivered a solid DCEU flick with the likes of Aquaman. The Jason Momoa led film which follows the story of Arthur Curry was a solid standalone film offering plenty of fun that would likely serve as a turning point for the DCEU. We can expect good things moving forward with plenty of other projects featuring the members of the Justice League.
The Justice League film that was released in 2017 was not the best film in the franchise and we can consider it a disappointment. However, we were introduced to new faces including Arthur Curry himself and Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen AKA The Flash. With Wonder Woman 1984 on the way following its successful predecessor, we can expect an Aquaman sequel to see the light of day in the future, hopefully even bringing other characters from the League to be a part of it and Momoa himself has some preferences on that matter.
Speaking to Collider, Momoa was asked if on which DC hero he would have chosen to make a cameo in Aquaman to which he responded with Ezra Miller’s The Flash. However, he also highlighted that Flash couldn’t just be a cameo and would require a bigger role. This brought into question a sequel to Arthur Curry’s story in regards to which other DC characters he would like to see in a possible sequel to which Momoa said:
“I think Wonder Woman would be pretty rad too. Flash and Wonder Woman would be my first two. I don’t want to pick one, so I’ll pick two”
Momoa may be a gigantic star now but it’s highly doubtful that he’ll have much of a say on this matter but he did reveal that he has a plan for an Aquaman sequel and maybe Wonder Woman and The Flash could very well be a part of said plan. However, it’s still early to tell but if there is a sequel, it would be so cool to see James Wan return for that.
