There are plenty of television shows lined-up for us to check out these days but it looks like we might have to add another to the list with the likes of an intriguing spy thriller. AMC and BBC’s The Little Drummer Girl miniseries based off the novel of the same name by John le Carré look like it may deliver something special for fans of television and le Carré. Starring Florence Pugh, Alexander Skarsgård, Michael Shannon, Clare Holman, Kate Sumpter, Charles Dance, Simona Brown and Max Irons, the series looks like it could serve up a treat from Oldboy director Park-Chan wook.
The trailer for the series dropped and it definitely has a ticking clock feel and plenty of intensity that would likely translate very well to the series itself. The tone has some subtle paranoia to it with some interesting cinematography that would surely be a contender come Emmy season. Check out the trailer below:
The story synopsis may seem pretty simple but when it comes to shows like this, the less we know, the better. Check out the official synopsis below:
“The Little Drummer Girl” weaves an explosive story of espionage and international intrigue; of love and betrayal. Brilliant young actress Charlie (Pugh) strikes up an acquaintance with an intriguing stranger while on vacation in Greece, but it rapidly becomes apparent that his intentions are far from romantic. The man is Becker (Skarsgård), an Israeli intelligence officer, who entangles her in a complex and high stakes plot orchestrated by Spymaster, Kurtz (Shannon).”
