We don’t really know a lot going on in regards to The Batman film. We know that Matt Reeves, director of the recent Planet of the Apes films is developing the standalone Batman but there’s also a chance that Ben Affleck wouldn’t be reprising his role as the Caped Crusader. Recently, Mad Men handsome man, Jon Hamm has expressed interest in taking on the role as Batman which would seem like an interesting option albeit not really something that a lot of people might be a fan of. Now, it seems that someone else has expressed interest in being part of a DC film but not as the hero himself.
In a recent post on Twitter, Josh Gad sent out a little shout out to Hamm about the possibility of them sharing the screen together in a film but as one of Batman’s villains, Penguin. Gad is mostly known for his comedic roles in films like The Wedding Ringer and the recent live-action Beauty and the Beast. Check out the tweet below:

It looks like Gad wants to step into the shoes of Danny Devito who played the Penguin in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns. Gad may not be associated as the villain type mostly due to his mostly comedic filmography, but let’s be honest here, Penguin can be pretty comical (no pun intended) so Gad may be a pretty good option.
We still don’t really know if Penguin would even be a part of Reeves’ Batman film or if Hamm will be cast as the Caped Crusader but it looks like these guys would be pretty much on board if they were to get the call. Once more news surface on the matter, we’ll be able to speculate more.
