Gwyneth Paltrow might be headed back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A new report claims she will reprise the role of Pepper Potts in Spider-Man: Far From Home, which will hit theaters following the events of the as-yet untitled Avengers 4.
A video reportedly shot on the set of Spider-Man: Far From Home features Jon Favreau’s character Happy Hogan, also known as Tony Stark’s friend and chauffeur in the Iron Man films. With Hogan’s appearance looking likely in the upcoming sequel, SuperBrosMovies reports that Pepper Potts won’t be far behind.
Potts is already expected to make a return in Avengers 4, following up on her cameo from Avengers: Infinity War. Because the status of so many characters currently hangs in the balance, uncertainty had been looming as to how much of an impact Avengers 4 would have on Far From Home. Now, though, it looks like Pepper might have another role to play in the MCU.
Paltrow has played Pepper Potts, Tony Stark’s right-hand woman, since the first Iron Man movie hit theaters in 2008. Ten years on, her presence remains an important one in the ever-expanding cast of characters. Pepper isn’t the only Iron Man film character who is making it to Spider-Man: Far From Home. Tony Stark’s friend and bodyguard, Happy Hogan, played by Jon Favreau, is also likely to join the upcoming film’s cast.
A new Spider-Man: Far From Home set video from London has surfaced online offering the first look at Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders). The video shows the two actors having a conversation with Favreau’s Happy Hogan. As the video has been taken from a distance, Happy is not completely recognizable.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is directed by Jon Watts and written by written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The film also stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Remy Hii and Tony Revolori.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to arrive in theaters on July 5, 2019, just two months after Avengers 4, which hits theaters on May 3, 2019.
