Mark Hamill recently revealed that he has never met Natalie Portman, which is weird considering the roles they play in the Star Wars saga. Padmé is the mother of Luke Skywalker and you’d think that throughout the years they would have met at some point.
When the Star Wars Twitter account wished Natalie Portman happy birthday on June 9, franchise icon Mark Hamill retweeted the message and revealed he’s never actually met the actress, who played Luke Skywalker’s mother Padme Amidala in the prequels. During her appearance Thursday on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Portman said she’d love to meet him.
FUN FACT: I've never met this woman. https://t.co/YYIFku1CVQ

When asked about their curious lack of interaction on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Portman replied, “It’s such a shame, I would love to meet him. Mark, I would love to meet you, come over.” However, she did joke that Hamill did not wish her a happy birthday in the tweet, and remarked that that would be a start.
Mark Hamill appears in six Star Wars movies, but not the three with Natalie Portman for a simple reason: Padmé Amidala died shortly after giving birth to Leia and Luke.
There’s a good chance that one day we’ll see Hamill post a photo on Twitter of him with Portman. It’ll make a good addition to the Skywalker family photo album.
