I’m sure it’s been a dream of yours to attend San Diego Comic-Con, as it’s been mine. And if you’re not living in the US, well the struggle is real. Not only is the exchange rate crap, making it incredibly expensive, even if we do buy tickets, book a flight and hotel and make our way to SDCC, there’s no guaranteeing our entrance into Hall H (the hall where the biggest panels are held and most anticipated trailers are dropped — Star Wars, the MCU, you name it).
However, this year, things are going to be different. For the first time in history, San Diego Comic-Con will be held entirely online and completely FREE to the masses. Per Deadline, this year’s convention will be titled Comic-Con@Home and will take place on July 22-26. This virtual version of Comic-Con “hopes to deliver the best of the Comic-Con experience and a sense of its community to anyone with an internet connection and an interest in all aspects of pop culture.”
Some of the activities that will be taking place throughout the virtual event include Exhibit Hall (promotions, limited-edition products, etc), exclusive panels and presentations (which usually includes movie trailers) as well as a Masquerade, which apparently we will be able to participate from home.
