Well, that rumour got squashed pretty damn quick. A couple of hours ago, film Twitter broke into little tiny pieces when it was rumoured that Rian Johnson’s Star Wars trilogy wasn’t in the works anymore. A small blog SuperBroMovies published the rumour citing that Rian Johnson had stepped away from the world of Star Wars to focus on other projects such as Knives Out. His trilogy was set to focus on fresh characters and explore regions of the galaxy that have yet to be established in the existing Star Wars lore.
However, both Pablo Hidalgo and Rian Johnson have since brushed off this rumour. Johnson was kind in his response to people’s panic, saying that he’s actually “still working on the trilogy.” Check out his responses below:
No it isn’t true, I’m still working on the trilogy. With all due respect to the movie bros, who I’m sure are lovely kind bros with good fraternal intentions.

I refuse to believe you didn’t just make up “superbro movies”

Besides Johnson, Pablo Hidalgo, Creative Executive and member of the Lucasfilm story group, has chimed in as well with a witty and sarcastic response.
