YOUNG & FABULOUS Will Screen in Cinemas Again in Memory of Aloysius Pang

Rest in Peace.

In a tragic series of events, Aloysius Pang, the 28-year-old Singaporean actor known for starring in Timeless Love and Young & Fabulous passed away last Wednesday from injuries sustained during a military training exercise — Pang was serving his National Service at the time — in New Zealand. It’s reported that Pang was crushed between the gun barrel of a howitzer and its cabin after he was unable to get out of the way in time, as the barrel was lowered.

In loving memory of the young actor, Young & Fabulous is set to hit the big screens in Singapore again.  According to a Facebook post, released by Encore Films, the film will be screened in six locations (Golden Village Plaza, Golden Village Tampines, Cathay Cineplex AMK Hub, Cathay Cineplex Parkway Parade, Shaw Theatres Waterway Point and WE Cinemas Clementi) starting from the 29th of January 2019. All proceeds from the screening (after third-party costs) will go to Aloysius Pang’s family.

In the same post, Director of Young & Fabulous, Joyce Lee mentioned that Aloysius was like a younger brother to her.

Aloysius is a dear friend, and the news of his passing was hard for me. We worked very well together for Young & Fabulous, and I treat him like my younger brother. I wanted to do something for him, and with his family’s blessings, we’ve decided to re-release Young & Fabulous on the big screens for Singaporeans who wished to pay tribute to his great work. Aloysius’s wish was to excel in his acting profession and get more recognition for his work. I hope I can do my part to help him fulfil his wish.

Throughout his career in the entertainment industry, Aloysius Pang received numerous awards and accolades, more notably for his performances in TV series such as It Takes Two (Favourite Male Character, Star Awards 2013), I’m In Charge (Favourite Male Character, Star Awards 2014) and many more.

Young & Fabulous is Aloysius Pang’s third performance in a feature film. It’s a coming of age story centred around a group of teenage friends who strive against all challenges and obstacles to pursue their dreams. The film grossed a total of S$1.3 million and was later released in Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam.
