There’s a chance Avengers 4 may be the last time we see Chris Evans in the MCU but it definitely wouldn’t be the last time we see him on the big screen. We may not see Evans reprise his role as Captain America but he will be part of another project under another gigantic franchise alumni, Rian Johnson. Rian Johnson is a great director despite what some fans may think of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and it looks like Evans may join him in his next effort.
Rian Johnson is going back to basics now with his new project Knives Out. The mystery film looks like it may bring Johnson to some pretty familiar territory having directed the noir classic Brick and the science fiction thriller, Looper. Evans has signed on to the project in what could very well be one of his first post-MCU role.
Deadline reports that Evans has signed on to star in the Johnson directed mystery film alongside James Bond himself, Daniel Craig. We don’t really know much about the film but the film would likely begin shooting this year. With these names attached to it, we may be able to expect an intriguing mystery film, a field that Johnson has a lot of experience in.
Things may be different in the MCU without Cap but if it’s going to be awesome to see Evans in a role that doesn’t have Captain in front of it. Granted, he’s been in other films like last year’s Gifted and 2013’s science fiction film, Snowpiercer but his role in the MCU has somewhat overshadowed those. We can expect great things from this guy and it really looks like we’ll be seeing more of Evans in the future.
